Rapidly melting ice sheets, booming tourism, ever-larger waste heaps, a confident Greenland developing its Indigenous identity - . Greenland’s transformation is intense, turbulent, and contradictory. But what do the people there think of it all? What does this teach us about the world we live in? How do we deal with the dilemmas and contradictions? What scares us about it and what opportunities are at stake? ‘Greenland. Everything changes’ stands for a world that also exists in Switzerland and challenges us.
Film exhibition with Greenland sound
Immersive projections serve as a counterpoint to around thirty filmed interviews with Greenlanders. A diverse assortment of figures including a fisherman, an actress, a politician, an airport manager, a student, a hunter, and an influencer tell of their experiences and personal opinions about Greenland. As a visitor, you choose which voices you want to listen to via headphones. The exhibition dispenses with commentary and judgement. ‘Facts & Figures’ are concentrated in a separate room - and in the accompanying magazine. The finale is dedicated to the lively Greenlandic music scene. Dancing allowed!
Greenland x Greenland: From 16 September 2025 to 31 May 2026, your ALPS admission ticket will also grant you access to the Greenland exhibition at the Bern Historical Museum!

Project counselling and support in Greenland: Fridolin Walcher, photographer
A high-quality magazine accompanying the exhibition offers in-depth essays, interviews, and photo series – featuring images from the ALPS film crew as well as works by the young Greenlandic photographer Inuuteq Storch. International authors explore the upheavals and transformations in Greenland, from geopolitical contexts to the debunking of "Ten Myths about Greenland" by Greenlandic influencer Qupanuk Olsen.
